Wawa Gatheru

Socials:
Wawa Gatheru has established herself as a formidable voice in the environmental movement through her work connecting climate solutions with racial and social justice. At Love Tomorrow Summit, she will highlight how biodiversity loss is fundamentally driven by global wealth inequality and demonstrate how redistributing resources toward local stewards of nature can revitalize ecosystems. Her foundation, Black Girl Environmentalist, creates critical platforms for underrepresented communities to participate in environmental leadership and policy development. As the first Black person to receive three prestigious environmental scholarships—the Rhodes, Truman, and Udall—Gatheru inspires audiences with practical pathways for everyone to engage in the movement to protect Earth’s life support systems while addressing historical inequities.
