Kris Broos

As an expert at VITO in Sustainable Materials Management, Kris Broos plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between research and practical industry applications. His expertise lies in developing new methods to transform complex waste streams into valuable resources using advanced sensor-based technologies and machine learning. Currently, he is leading the implementation of ‘Characterise-to-Sort’ technology, aimed at revolutionizing the recycling industry through a fully automated battery sorting plant. This innovative project is carried out in collaboration with industry leaders Bebat and Sortbat, setting the stage for future advancements in sustainable material management.
